Volume 3, Book 33, Number 260 :
Narrated by Abu Huraira
The Prophet used to perform Itikaf every year in the month of Ramadan for ten days,
and when it was the year of his death, he stayed in Itikaf for twenty days.
The last 10 days of Ramadan have began,
let us make up any shortcomings in our ibaadah,
and strive for the short time we have left.
May Allah forgive us before the completion of this blessed month,
of its true blessings we can never truely understand,
there were scholars in the past who could see blessings desend
physically in this month and even on Lailatul Qadr. May Allah grant us that as well.
Narrated `Aisha: Allah’s Apostle said,
“Whoever died and he ought to have fasted (the missed days of Ramadan)
then his guardians must fast on his behalf.” Bukhari 3.173
If you start to get hungry while you’re fasting,
tell your stomach to “bring it”
b/c your hunger is nothing as compared to your desire to follow the laws of Allah.
Indeed, when your stomach realizes you are not gonna feed it due to your intention of pleasing Allah,
it will give up and your hunger will disappear, insha’Allah!
Remember to keep your brothers/sisters in
Yemen, Libya, Syria and the rest of the world in your duas,
especially during this special month of Ramadan.
May Allah grant all of our brothers and sisters in
Yemen, Libya, Syria, and elsewhere tawfeeq, khair (goodness),
sabr (patience) and success during these trying times. Ameen!
